Yukon Territory
About Yukon Territory:
There is room to spread out and explore in the Yukon; an area larger than California with a population that would fit into a suburb of Los Angeles--30,000 people. The territory is located in northwestern Canada, with Alaska bordering to the west, British Columbia to the south, the Northwest Territories to the east and the Beaufort Sea to the north. Regardless of the season, even in the heart of winter, the landscape is inspiring. More than 80 percent of the Yukon is wilderness, home to animals such as a herd of 125,000 Porcupine caribou, 25 percent of Canada’s grizzly bears, millions of migratory birds, and Dall sheep. The territory is also the ancestral home of 14 different First Nations peoples, who speak eight different aboriginal languages.
