The W Honolulu is everything you’d expect from this chain—it’s ultra-hip and swanky with very modern décor. It’s also small, with just 49 rooms that feature attractive teak furniture and amenities such as goose-down pillows, feather beds, 250-thread-count sheets, Aveda bath products, and 27-inch televisions with Internet access. The coziness of the rooms complements the look of the comfortable lobby, which is designed without walls and resembles a warm-looking living room in a very stylish house. It’s even called the Living Room, and it has a romantic feel to it at night when illuminated by candlelight. Come dinnertime, the Diamond Head Grill dishes out a mixture of Asian, Euro-American, and Polynesian cuisine. The W Honolulu Bar, inside the restaurant, gets especially busy on weekends serving its signature drinks, such as the Mai Tai Martini. Most nights, live bands help energize the bar’s scene. The hotel is located on the quiet end of Waikiki at the base of Diamond Head. It doesn’t front the water, but it’s adjacent to two beaches.
