Union Square Cafe was the first restaurant from the man who brought New York Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Tabla and Blue Smoke: Danny Meyer. This warm, cheery, bilevel restaurant and bar is still packing in locals and wooing tourists with Meyer’s signature hospitality, chef Michael Romano’s inspired New American fare and an award-wining wine list. While the menu changes with the seasons and often features produce from the Greenmarket across the way, the chef’s signature grilled tuna burger deserves special mention.
