With convenient access to both downtown businesses and the boutiques and restaurants of South Beach, this resort is a convenient base for exploring the sights and sounds of Miami. Shuttle service to South Beach and other area attractions demonstrates how this property anticipates the needs of its guests.

Miami’s eternal sunshine has rubbed off on the staff at Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort, and they treat visitors to polite, professional service with a smile. Throughout my stay, I felt pampered and privileged. I expected a high level of service with a property bearing the name of Donald Trump, and I was never disappointed at any time during my stay. The arrival and departure were executed without delay and managed to convey warmth as well as professionalism.

I was especially pleased with the service I encountered at the pool and beach. The staff immediately greeted me upon arrival at the pool, and after questioning them about the location of the beach, I was immediately provided with clear directions and was greeted by a beach staff member. I felt welcomed and pampered by the staff, who ensured that I had a comfortable chair, perfectly placed umbrella, and a fresh drink.

Similarly, the concierge staff met--and often exceeded--my expectations. On two occasions, I was provided with detailed descriptions on area shopping, as well as nearby child-friendly activities. Both concierges went the extra step to advise me on restaurants near my excursions -- a step that was much appreciated.

For guests traveling with children, one notable amenity at the Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort is the comprehensive kids program. “Just Us Kids” has daily outings and activities for kids ages 5 to 12, and the “Just Us Little Kids” program is targeted at children ages 3-4, providing two hours of supervised activities.

My room and bathroom were incredibly spacious and I particularly enjoyed my private balcony with its ocean view. The classic-yet-modern design echoed the resort’s commitment to contemporary elegance. The room was decorated with neutral tones and furniture with simple, elegant lines. The bedroom was comfortable, thanks to several added elements, including a fully stocked bar and washer and dryer. High-end toiletries were thoughtfully placed throughout the bathroom. The room was also well soundproofed, clean, and immaculately maintained. New bedding and linens made for a peaceful and luxuriously comfortable night’s rest.

Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort is a veritable playground for adults and children alike, featuring a variety of fun-filled amenities and activities. The luxurious pool is the resort’s centerpiece. Tucked among lush tropical plants and flowers, the sparkling blue pool winds its way through waterfalls and fountains, and seating areas with lounges and umbrellas. The beach is just steps from the pool deck, and service at both the beach and pool completes the picture. A variety of watersports, including wave runners, aircats, and power boat rentals entice thrill-seeking guests, while those who prefer more leisurely pursuits may indulge themselves at the full-service Mobil Three-Star Aquanox Spa.

Aquanox’s six treatment rooms, including one designed specifically for water-based treatments, await the arrival of world-weary travelers. Facials, massage therapy, and body treatments round out the comprehensive treatment menu. Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort is also the home of D R Bonlie Salon, which specializes in all types of hair care from cuts to coloring to extensions. The resort’s fitness center provides personal training sessions, and the facility is equipped with a variety of high tech machines and equipment.

The resort’s “Just Us Kids” program is perfect for travelers with young children. Families will also want to take advantage of the city’s many family-focused attractions, including the Miami Metrozoo and the Miami Seaquarium.

Neomi’s is the signature restaurant, offering all-day dining with a focus on contemporary American and tropical cuisine, such as its specialty dish, Key West Shrimp. Indoor and outdoor seating with a view overlooking the ocean and pool deck are available. Gili’s Pool Bar & Grill is the perfect spot for a lighter lunch fare featuring sandwiches, salads, and snacks from noon to midnight, while Lime Lounge offers continental breakfast and afternoon tapas and cocktails.

During my visit, I was able to enjoy cocktails in the bar, breakfast at Neomi’s, and in-room dining. My three experiences were consistently impressive. Neomi’s wait staff were attentive and informative, and offered helpful suggestions. The menu offered a nice mix of healthy and tempting selections, and the food was clearly well prepared and beautifully presented. Though my name was never used during service in the bar, my server was equally well trained and offered prompt, professional service. The suggestion of a signature mandarin-banana martini, not listed on the menu, was wonderful. Room service was delivered in a timely manner and the server seemed genuinely concerned with my satisfaction. The thoughtful service, coupled with the excellent quality food, made for a memorable dining experience.

The staffed business center is on hand to assist travelers with their office needs, and all of the rooms come equipped with two-line phone and high-speed Internet access. During my visit, I utilized the services of the business center and was pleased to find a helpful, professional staff that tended to my needs.
