The pale hues, dark wood and floral textiles in the small rooms aim for a romantic vibe, but they make this European-style hotel seem dated rather than for dating. The rooms also provide a strange juxtaposition to the hotel’s restaurant, the decidedly
unflowery Mike Ditka’s Restaurant, owned by da legendary Bears coach. The
two-floor steakhouse replaces the faux romanticism with a cigar lounge and a live Sinatra-esque singer. Odd pairings aside, the Tremont’s best perk is its location; it’s a half block away from Michigan Avenue, right near the Hancock Center and Water Tower Place shopping paradise.
