About Telluride, Colorado:
Gray granite and red sandstone mountains surround this mining town named for the tellurium ore containing precious metals found in the area. Telluride, proud of its bonanza past, has not changed its façade. Because of its remoteness and small size, Telluride remains uncrowded and retains its history. Summer activities include fly-fishing, mountain biking, river rafting, hiking, Jeep trips, horseback riding, and camping, as well as many annual events and festivals from May to October.
