Opened by three Croatian immigrants in 1849 during the California gold rush, this Financial District institution is a draw primarily for its expansive seafood menu, although pork chops, steaks, and other meat dishes are also available. The menu changes daily according to the available fresh fish. The long bar and counter, along with the enclosed booths, are dark wood; tables are topped with crisp white cloths; and an open kitchen is located at the rear of the restaurant.
