Zen-like, spare Sugiyama is well known for its prix fixe kaiseki-style meals (multi-course offerings that were originally part of elaborate, traditional Japanese tea ceremonies). At Sugiyama, the kaiseki dishes have evolved into a procession of precious little plates, holding small, beautifully presented portions. Meals are tailored to suit your appetite and preferences and start with -sakizuke (an amuse bouche) followed by a seasonal special (zensai), soup, sashimi, sushi, salad, and beef or seafood cooked over a hot stone (ishiyaki), among other sumptuous Japanese delicacies.
