This hotel, located right on the beach in the heart of Waikiki, is massive with 1,695 rooms in two 30-story towers. It’s built in such a way that more than two-thirds of those rooms face the water and offer some sort of ocean view. Like the hotel itself, the rooms tend to be spacious, and they have lanais. Given this Sheraton’s size, it’s not the best choice for those who want lots of peace and quiet in an intimate setting. But it’s ideal for families because it’s close to everything in Waikiki and offers lots of on-site activities, including swimming at the beach or two pools, exercising in the fitness center, and shopping in numerous gift shops. In addition, a children’s program offers youngsters a variety of fun activities, from learning how to boogie board and competing in beach games to creating Hawaiian arts and crafts and playing Hawaiian games, such as huki huki and konane. The hotel has three restaurants, the most elegant of which is located on the 30th floor: the Hanohano Room, which dishes up Continental dishes and flavors from Hawaii. It also has two bars, including the lively Esprit Nightclub, a popular place to dance.
