About Saint John, New Brunswick:
The largest and oldest city in the province, this deep-sea port was founded by the United Empire Loyalists after the American Revolution. It is Canada's first incorporated city. The heart of the old town is King's Square, where many historic landmarks (including an ancient burial ground) are found.

The Reversing Falls, phenomenon caused by the 30-foot (9-meter) tides on the Bay of Fundy, are found near the eastern approach to the city center off Highway 1. Here, the high tidewater is forced back upstream into the Saint John River, causing a whirling torrent. A deck, where the tourist bureau is located, overlooks the rapids.
