Raoul’s is one of the most French and most romantic restaurants in the city. Opened in the mid-1970s, this intimate little bistro has managed to retain its popularity, meaning that it is constantly packed, so reservations are a must. (Specify which room you’d like to be seated in—the downstairs main dining room is dark and sultry, while the upstairs has a bit more light and feels more civilized.) Seafood dishes are especially good here, although peppercorn steak frites will not disappoint carnivores. House pâté and frisée with cambozola cheese are also lovely menu items.
