Still a hot spot for celebrities and power brokers, the Polo Lounge offers the utmost in California ambiance. Inside the restaurant, large velvet booths with striped walls of dark green and cream complete the regal setting, and the outside area features a dramatic patio with a lone, knotted oak tree, blooming vines, and striking pink archways. Famous for its scenery and patronage, the real star of the Polo Lounge is the California cuisine. Highlights of the menu include the Grilled Kobe-Style Burger (a house favorite) and the Grilled Veal Chop with Oregon Morel Mushrooms, Parsley Gnocchi and a Laurel-Scented Veal Sauce. A Chef’s Seasonal Five-Course Tasting Menu is also offered, and can be supplemented with a wine pairing. Reservations are not necessary but a plus when trying to secure a booth or table outside.
