This petite, small-town cousin of San Francisco’s Aqua may not be as slick and savvy as its big-city relative, but it shines in its own wonderful way. Located in a historic train station, Pisces is intimate and airy, awash in blond wood with shuttered windows, tall mirrors, and a slick marble bar. Seafood specialist chef Michael Mina consulted on this project, so it makes sense that the signatures focus on the wonders of the deep blue. A seasonal raw bar glistens with the briny waters of the ocean; foie gras is smartly paired with seared day boat scallops; and tuna tartare is infused with sesame and scotch bonnet chilies. Pisces has a great selection of inventive cocktails as well; make time to sample a few before dinner.
