Steve Wynn commissioned architectural firm Hirsch Bedne to create a contemporary Japanese design to infuse clean lines, Japanese characters, and traditional Japanese gardens for his restaurant, Okada. The design is a metaphor for the modern Japanese food creations of Chef Masa Ishizawa, who blends fresh ingredients to create inspired sushi, Teppanyaki and Robata cooking. The soups, salads and noodles include such traditional favorites as Miso Soup and Edamame, but there are new twists offered as well, such as Red Miso Bouillabaisse or Lily Bulb Soup with Smoked Salmon. Traditional Entrées balance with Signature Entrées at Okada. For the traditionalist, there are Tempura and Teriyaki, with an emphasis on simple preparation. Signature Entrées are prepared with flair such as Braised “Kurobuta” Short Rib with Fingerling Potatoes or Four Story Hill Organic Chicken with Daikon Ginger-Soy Caramel Broth. For the sushi enthusiast, there is a variety of fresh sushi and sashimi. And for those with a passion for grilled delicacies, there is a selection of marinated vegetables, fish and poultry bites to be grilled over Japanese charcoal in a process known as Robatayaki. For those wanting to experience the most of Chef Ishizawa’s talents, a Teppan Menu (multi-course tasting menu) is offered nightly.
