A string of residences along upper Newbury Street was linked with indoor staircases and hallways to create this pioneer among Back Bay bed-and-breakfasts. Rooms tend to be on the small side, in part because bathrooms stole space from bedrooms when the conversions were made. The décor is eclectic, with a bias toward the kind of furniture that Granny jettisoned when she bought her recliner. The bed-and-breakfast offers good value for the location, but ask for a room on the back side to escape weekend street noise.
