It’s hard to believe that this spacious and modern luxury hotel was able to squeeze into one of the oldest neighborhoods in Boston without disturbing the ambience. Good soundproofing provides a serene sanctuary from the bustle of Faneuil Hall Marketplace next door—a location that makes the Millennium ideal for tourists (although the hotel caters mainly to business travelers given its proximity to the Government Center). Because the hotel was constructed around some older buildings, guest rooms vary from tiny to palatial; be sure to inquire carefully when booking. The hotel's restaurant (see SEASONS) was a pioneer in introducing contemporary upscale cuisine to Boston years ago and remains one of the poshest dining spots in town. City Hall is nearby, so plenty of local business gets accomplished in the lobby bar. Although the hotel doesn't have its own spa, guests receive a discount at the Aveda Spa next door.
