Chef Anthony Bourdain (author of behind-the-scenes memoir Kitchen Confidential) brought Les Halles into the culinary limelight a few years back. Despite all the hype, this brasserie remains a genuine star for amazing cuts of steak and terrific takes on pork, chicken, moules, and, of course, lots of frites. The front serves as a French-style butcher shop (modeled after the French marketplace, Les Halles), while the crowded bistro-style dining room feels like it just fell out of some super-fabulous arrondisement in Paris.
