For well over 100 years, visitors have sought out Lake Elmo for the excellent fishing opportunities in its five lakes: Horseshoe Lake and Lakes Demontreville, Elmo, Jane, and Olson. Anglers catch bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass, northern pike, panfish, sunfish, and walleye. In winter, snowmobiling and ice fishing are popular, and the four golf courses in Lake Elmo offer summertime fun.
