Connoisseurs of fine French cuisine will be pleased to discover that classically trained chef Ron Gallaher practices his art a few miles outside of Kailua-Kona. Though small and a bit out of the way, this pricey, intimate restaurant is well worth the time and money. Signature dishes include baked brie in puff pastry, a salad featuring fresh lobster, goat cheese and mango, and the roast duck breast with raspberries and pine nuts. Classic favorites such as escargots de Bourgogne and osso bucco (braised veal shanks) are also available. Finish with flourless chocolate cake or a light crème brûlée for a meal that is truly memorable.
