Retreat to this restaurant and teahouse on the second floor of renowned tea merchant Ito En. Along with an afternoon tea featuring many of Ito En’s premium teas and sweets like black sesame and green tea layered cake, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. At lunch, diners delight in flavors and textures of soups and dishes made with noodles, tea-scented rice, vegetables, seafood or beef. Bento boxes or sashimi lunches are also popular choices. At dinner, order a la carte or a tasting menu such as the nine-course Iron Goddess, which features dishes like chilled puree of lily bulb soup and “live” unagi with seasonal vegetables and spicy miso.
