A San Francisco landmark tucked into a residential neighborhood on the eastern slopes of Telegraph Hill, Julius' Castle was built in 1922. The light pink, three-story turreted structure is justifiably famous for its stunning, unobstructed views of Treasure Island, the Bay Bridge, and the city itself. The contemporary European fare includes dishes like braised Chilean sea bass and Colorado rack of lamb, which are paired with selections from a highly rated wine list. A winding stairway leads from the ground-floor bar and lounge to the dining room, with its exhibition kitchen, dark hardwoods, and lovely chandeliers.
