Foodies everywhere salivated when they heard of Joel Robuchon’s arrival in Sin City. His first of three restaurants in North America, Joel Robuchon at the Mansion, located in the MGM Grand, is a super-luxe temple of haute cuisine, showcasing the signature cooking style that earned Robuchon his reputation as one of the world’s greatest chefs. The menu, which reflects simplicity and a respect for fine ingredients, includes signatures dishes like crispy amadai snapper with pistachio oil, truffled langoustine ravioli with diced cabbage and scallops in a ginger bouillon with baby leeks. Additional highlights include the bread cart (which showcases nearly two dozen different kinds of breads baked fresh daily) and a petit four cart with fanciful confections. The intimate Art Deco space features has 17-foot ceilings and features cream-colored walls, black lacquered furniture and a black-and-white tiled entrance lit by a stunning crystal chandelier. The knowledgeable and graceful staff almost seems invisible. You’ll remember a meal here for years to come.
