Owned by Philippe Jeanty, Jeanty at Jack’s is a delightful brasserie that has long been seducing guests with its delicious, authentic French fare and old-world Parisian elegance. The restaurant, set in an 1864 two-story redwood-paneled cottage in the Financial District, is something out of an old French movie, with lace curtains, vintage brass lighting, 14-foot sculpted relief ceilings and walls, and a black-and-white-checkered tile floor. Aside from the charmed interior, diners come here because Jeanty captures the essence of French dining, serving perfectly prepared standards like steamed mussels with fries, sole meuniere, grilled rib eye steak béarnaise, cassoulet with duck confit, and delicious last-course classic treats like crepes suzette and apple tarte tatin.
