Located in a Japantown mall, this small, unique restaurant was the first of its kind in the United States, established in 1982. Isobune means “canal boat” in Japanese, and sure enough, sushi floats by in wooden boats on a small river of water. Diners sit at an oval counter; colorful Japanese lanterns and curios make up the décor.
