This lovely bed-and-breakfast, which does indeed resemble a castle, was built in 1889 by well-known Denver architect William Lang. Located in the peaceful Wyman Historic District, it is on the National Register of Historic Structures and is as beautiful inside as outside: period antiques, family heirlooms, hand-rubbed wood, stained-glass windows, and personal warmth from the proprietors that translates into well-cared-for guests. The Marne has nine rooms of varying sizes, some with whirlpools for one or two, one with an 18-foot cathedral ceiling, and others with beds with feather ticks or pedestal sinks and claw foot tubs. Melissa Feher-Peiker serves her guests afternoon tea in the parlor (or, weather permitting, in the garden) and will even serve a private candlelight dinner if you make reservations.
