Period music and memorabilia from the original downtown Blackhawk restaurant in its 1920s, '30s, and '40s prime lend Chicago swagger to this Wheeling institution. Steaks, prime rib, and seafood center the menu, although many fans make the trip specifically for the famous “spinning salad bowl” rite in which waiters whip up salads tableside. The food is old-fashioned, but the genuine welcome is perennially fresh.
