One of Walt Disney World’s original resorts, this 14-story A-frame contemporary is one of the most recognizable Disney icons, and one of the most unique. Showcasing a cavernous atrium, it is the only hotel in the world that features a monorail that travels directly through its center. The "futuristic" property, which opened with the Magic Kingdom in 1971, features modern textures and designs and vibrant colors. The resort offers six clay tennis courts, pools, parasailing, a marina with boat rentals, jet ski rentals, beach volleyball, fishing, a jogging trail, and access to five championship golf courses. Get up to the rooftop California Grill (see) for great views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
