Danube is the creation of David Bouley, the inspired and famed chef who has created many notable New York establishments. A stunning place to spend an evening, Danube has the feel of an old Austrian castle, with dark wood, deep, plush banquettes and soft, warm lighting. On the menu are Austrian-inspired dishes interspersed with lighter, modern seasonal New American dishes. Bouley’s food is spectacular, though not for those who fear taking risks at dinner. The staff offers refined service, and the wine list is eclectic and extensive. As you would expect, it includes some gems from Austria.
