A landmark hotel built in 1929, the Cypress Inn is smack dab in the center of town, steps away from boutiques, art galleries, and great restaurants. Within the attractive white Mediterranean exterior is an appealing lobby with a large fireplace, deep comfortable sofas, and a vaulted ceiling. A courtyard next to the lobby welcomes dogs and cats, and the inn also offers pet-sitting services (Doris Day, a part-owner, is involved with the Doris Day Animal Foundation). The guest rooms are spread out on two floors. They aren’t especially spacious, but they’re welcoming to both two-legged and four-legged guests, with pet blankets, fresh flowers, fruit bowls, and sherry decanters.
