Corner Bistro is known far and wide for one thing and one thing only: burgers. They are good, but the hype is a bit out of control these days. The place, a run-down little tavern with quite a bit of “character,” is located, as its name suggests, on a nice little corner of the West Village, and the space is far from glamorous. In a word, it’s a dive, but a friendly one, that serves tasty burgers on cardboard plates topped with cheese, bacon, or, if you're splurging on the Bistro Burger, bacon, raw onions, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. The Corner Bistro formula is simple: it’s beer, burgers, and if you're lucky, some napkins. If you want anything more, you'd better go elsewhere.
