About Coeur D'Alene, Idaho:
Nestled amid lakes and rivers, Coeur d'Alene (cor-da-LANE) is a tourist and lumbering community, but particularly a gateway to a lush vacation area in the Idaho Panhandle. Irrigation has opened vast sections of nearby countryside for agricultural development; grass seed production is of major importance. The city is the headquarters for the three Idaho Panhandle National Forests, and there are three Ranger District offices here.
