Fashionable Upper East Siders use Pino Luongo’s Centolire as their elegant dining room and watering hole. The space, soothing and all aglow in ultra-flattering light, has a serene vibe with an air of money and power subtly floating in the background. This is not to say that Centolire is pretentious, it’s not. The service is gracious and the Italian menu of simple, well articulated flavors is wonderful. However, if you are used to a downtown crowd, you may feel out of place among all the glitzy guests.
