If you’re looking for “unique,” look no further. The Broker, located in downtown Denver and once part of the Denver National Bank, is now a place where private parties can dine in one of several old board rooms or in rooms where the wealthy once viewed the contents of their safety deposit boxes. The restaurant’s centerpiece is a huge bank vault, now its own dining room-within-a-dining room. But go down a few stairs, make a turn here and there, descend another flight, and go through what seems like it might have been a secret passageway, and suddenly you’re in another private dining room—the restaurant’s massive wine cellar, which has a dining table amid its volumes of nesting bottles. Although the lone table can seat up to 20, it once sat just two. That was when a lucky lady received a very romantic marriage proposal, complete with 80 dozen roses.
