About Boca Raton, Florida:
Florida architect Addison Mizner bought several thousand acres of farmland on which to build his dream city, Boca Raton, only to be foiled by the bust that followed the Florida land boom of the 1920s. For three decades, Boca Raton was a small resort town with little more than the architecture of Mizner's Boca Raton Resort and Club to commend it. In recent years, however, the town has been in the forefront of Palm Beach County's explosive growth. Throughout this period, Boca Raton has retained its resort atmosphere while becoming an educational, technical, and cultural center.
