About Billings, Montana:
On the west bank of the Yellowstone River, Billings, seat of Yellowstone County, was built by the Northern Pacific Railway and took the name of railroad President Frederick K. Billings. Today, it is the center of a vast trade region. Billings is a major distribution point for Montana's and Wyoming's vast strip-mining operations. Industries include agriculture, tourism, and oil trade. Billings offers excellent medical facilities and is a regional convention center. It is also the headquarters of the Custer National Forest.
