Boston’s Seaport Hotel (see) is home to this casually elegant waterfront district restaurant. Seafood is the focus of the inventive American menu, which features influences from around the globe and highlights the use of fresh, local seafood and locally farmed produce. Starters include New England clam chowder with an Irish soda biscuit as well as pan-roasted Maine diver scallops with smoked tomato-basil butter and fork rolled gnocchi. Entrees on offer may include Mediterranean-style swordfish over a warm salad of artichokes, oven cured tomatoes, oregano crisps and Feta cheese; and seared loin of yellowfin tuna with crispy shrimp, sea beans, and baby bok choy. Desserts here are just as inspiring, with choices such as maple ricotta cheesecake with Concord grape sorbet and a walnut cookie, and bittersweet chocolate tart with jasmine tea oranges and caramel ice cream.
