Although it is lodged in the Fairmont Chicago (see), Aria distances itself from the bland stereotype of hotel restaurants by maintaining a street entrance to encourage local patrons to visit. The Asian-inspired décor features Tibetan artwork, orchids, and plush upholstery, underscoring the menu’s Eastern orientation. Nan (Indian bread) with four dipping sauces is served at all tables, and the bar offers sushi, Asian appetizers, and noodles to the cocktail crowd. The bar and sushi bar take on a modern, clublike atmosphere and are definitely worth a visit before or after your meal.
