Chef/partner Marcus Samuelsson
introduced New York to his splashy
brand of modern Scandinavian cuisine
a decade ago at Aquavit. After 10
years and a move to the ultra-modern
Park Avenue Tower, the restaurant has a
sleek, sophisticated vibe, and the cuisine
is even more spectacular. While ingredients
like herring, lamb, salmon, caviar
and dill show up with regularity, the food
is more uniquely Samuelsson than anything
else. A shot of smooth, yet decidedly potent
aquavit complements dinner nicely, as does
a selection from the impressive wine list.
