With the closing of Bruno’s Ristorante, whose cathedral-like décor doubled as a film and TV backdrop for decades, the West Side has turned to Anna’s for authentic Sicilian atmosphere. From the lamps and the poster-covered walls to the tablecloths and the rich sauces ladled generously over lovingly prepared pasta, the color red prevails: its copious use here announces “wholly appetizing” (and “somewhat pricey”). Featuring pepperoni pizza, whitefish piccata, and everything in-between, the selection is impressive, and the waitstaff—apropos to the culture—is warm and very family oriented.
