On a strip of Melrose that’s better known for Johnny Rockets than fine cuisine, Angeli Caffé has been mounting a revolution for years—preaching the concept that good food is slow food. Chef Evan Kleinman takes the slow food concept into her kitchen, where she utilizes the finest organic seasonal ingredients to turn out deliciously simple rustic Italian fare. The dining room is unfussy, with exposed wooden beams and rickety tables, and kids are given pizza dough to sculpt while the kitchen slowly creates culinary perfection.
