Consistently garnering high points for its northern Italian cuisine, Acquerello, which means “watercolor” in Italian, does much for the palate. The restaurant is housed in a former chapel in the Russian Hill neighborhood, and it has maintained its high arched ceiling with exposed wood beams. Suzette Gresham’s rustic cuisine, along with an extensive and carefully selected wine list, launched Acquerello onto Wine Spectator's top 10 list for America’s best Italian restaurants. Specialties include house-made pasta with foie gras and black truffles.
