This one-time speakeasy is one of New York City’s most celebrated spots for lunch, dinner and lots of drinks for the Wall Street, media and regulars who frequent its tables. The chef turns out stellar, seasonal American fare. The restaurant has a distinguished air to it, with a clubby, brass-railed bar, luxurious linen-topped tables and old photos hung on wood-paneled walls. The Upstairs at ‘21’ is a restaurant within a restaurant and provides a more intimate dining experience. Dress sharp: It’s coat and tie at dinner, and no jeans.
